Volunteer Internship Program

Our Volunteer Internship Program enables young people looking to make a difference by matching them with community-based remote internships. This program is the perfect fit for those who want to gain professional experience while also supporting community organizations and initiatives.

Program Overview

Check out some quick facts about the program!

  • Start Dates:

    • ​Each "term" will start the second Monday of each month. Upcoming start dates are December 1st (amended start date for holidays), January 11th, and February 8th!

  • Internship Length/Hours:  

    • Each term is 8 weeks long and each intern is expected to work 6 to 8 hours per week.

      • Hours can be completed outside of school hours!

  • Age Requirements: 

    • Internships are available for high school (all grades) and college students

  • Program Fees: 

    • High school students: $485 per term; College: $395 per term 

      • Includes: internship placement interviewing and matching, weekly orientation, reflections, workshops with other intern participants, certification of hours completed, and a donation to your host community organization

Neighborhood Revitalization​

Each and every community faces its own unique issues, whether it be support for public infrastructure, food accessibility, or something else. These internships are ideal for volunteers who want to support working-class communities in any way they can.

Hourly Requirements

Interns are required to work a minimum of 6-8 hours per week. We fit within your school schedule! Interns are able to create their schedule based on their availability and commitments.

Basic Program Information

Our internships are perfect for both high-schoolers and university students! Check out more information below:

  • Required Next Steps

    • Fill out the application form

    • Receive more information about the program and reach out to us with any questions you might have

    • Fill out the registration form

    • Sign NWV waiver and pay $100 deposit

      • This deposit is applied towards your full program fee​

    • Pay full program fees 7 days before your program start date​​

 

  • ​Required Hours:​​​

    • Summer Term: 

      • Minimum of 8 hours per week - 8 weeks per term  

    • Fall, Winter, Spring Terms: 

      • Minimum of 6 hours ​per week - 8 weeks per term

​​

  • Required GPA: Minimum 3.0 or greater​

 

  • ​Specific Requirements for Remote/Virtual Opportunities:

    • Access to internet​

    • Telephone

    • Laptop/desktop computer
